A video game that is definitely not based on the Quidditch games from the famous Harry Potter series is making its way on to Steam sometime in Q1 2020. Luckily enough, we don’t have to wait so long to experience this magical experience for ourselves. Developers Virtual Basement has teamed up with Blue Isle Studios to release Broomstick League in order to bring their competitive experience to TwitchCon 2019 before releasing it into Steam’s Early Access.
If you can’t wait for the Early Access to launch, the first hands-on playable experience will debut September 27 – 29 at TwitchCon in San Diego, CA. For the rest of us, it shouldn’t be a much longer wait before we get to fly into the quidd-I mean, mystical arenas, and try out this competitive game.
Broomstick League is going to feature all the different aspects you could expect:
Fast-Paced Matches of any size between 1v1 to 4v4 with friends or online matchmaking.
Reflexive and Fantastical Gameplay as you can do a variety of things like pick up speed from dive-bombing, cast a spell on your opponent or use the blink spell to teleport yourself to a more favorable position.
Character Customization to let players personalize their own witch and wizard looks.
A few different Mystical Arenas to battle within.
Player Progression and Stats so players can track their progress with leaderboards, stat tracking, and player leveling systems.
Start putting together your magical team now because it won’t be long before we see this game taking off. Shout Up with confidence, grip your broom firmly, and keep your eye on the ball! The arenas are opening to all spell users in just a few months.
