The team over at One Million Words, a publisher page from David Michael Williams, has created a fun-forward fifth edition (5E) adventure featuring humor, heart, and puns aplenty called The Curse of Er’Mah’Gerd. This particular title was designed with the goal being to introduce new game masters (GMs) and players to tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) and provide an easy entry point to 5E Dungeons and Dragons.
This self-contained TTRPG was designed for up to six players and will have them confront a variety of challenges in the form of combat, diplomacy, and puzzle-solving. Being part homage and part parody, the game’s setting of Mezzo-Earth is rife with re-engineered cliches, meta-commentary, and plenty of eye-rolling puns.
All-in-all, this game includes six pre-generated player characters, more than a dozen maps, 16 original creatures, 22 unique items, and 30 new spells. Multiple playthroughs are encouraged, allowing players to try different characters, choose new allies, battle unique foes, and experience unexplored encounters.
The Curse of Er’Mah’Gerd is available now on DriveThruRPG in both digital and physical forms. You can learn more about the game from the official blog post.
