CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated title, Cyberpunk 2077 is just about a month away, so the developers put together a fourth entry in its Night City Wire stream series to give fans even more details about the unique and sprawling world that we will find ourselves in on November 19th. This episode to me seemed a little lighter on content but it was still worth a watch and gave some cool style glances. The main takeaways from this stream were the vehicles and fashion choices available in the game.
Vehicles
Vehicles play an enormous part in bringing the world of Cyberpunk to life. We get all kinds of different categories of cars to suit each players’ play-style. Not only do we get different kinds of cars, but there are also different vehicle makers as well.
We got a look at:
Economy - These are your everyday type of vehicles, not very much to look at but the styles of them are pretty wacky.
Makigai
Thorton
Archer
Executive - Higher-end cars that you’d see big wigs driving around the upper-class areas of Night City in.
Villefort
Chevillon
Heavy Duty - Military vehicles and the like, these are the heavy hitters you’ll need to watch out for when you’re on the receiving end of them.
Kaukaz
Militech
Sport - Well-tuned cars that do a great job of giving the needed performance when you’re in a tight situation.
Quadra
Mizutani
Hypercars - These cars are absolutely insane in both look and performance. These are sure to cost a pretty penny when you want to buy one.
Herrera
Rayfield
Along with the looks of some of the cars, we’ll get to drive, we also got some info on other aspects that go with the subject. Vehicles will have a vast combination for which you’ll see throughout Night City. You may see a beautiful Quadra 66 in an upper-class part of town with mods and beautiful finishes but when you go downtown it may be a different story. There, you might see dents, chipping paint, or maybe even the dashboard missing. It’s details like this that make this game just so awe-inspiring when looking at it.
Another really cool tidbit from the stream is the confirmation of races within the game. We can in fact race in different areas of Night City but are warned that it might be a good idea to bring some heat with us just in case. You never know who’s gonna pull the trigger first in Night City. I cannot wait to get a chance to play these races. The cars look absolutely stunning, and it’s amazing to see how much work went into each one.
There’s also going to be a real-world car coming to Cyberpunk 2077 in the form of Johnny Silverhand’s Porsche 930 ‘77 model car. They’ve also worked with Johnny himself, Keanu Reeves as well with his motorcycle company, Arch. Together, they’re bringing inspirations of his actual motorcycles to the game for players to enjoy. The main one looked at was the Method 143 bike which has the heaviest use of concept in the actual title.
Fashion and Styles
Like anything that fits into the cyberpunk genre, fashion is always something held in the highest of regards. With Cyberpunk 2077 it’s no different. There are 4 different styles for you to experiment with within the game and while it seems they only serve in a cosmetic way, it’s still about you leaving your own mark on the city, even in how you look.
The 4 styles are:
Kitsch (Style Over Substance) - This is the neon strewn style that most people would associate with the future. Hot pinks, neon yellows, and purples tied together with unique hairstyles and makeup to go the extra distance and let people know that you’re original.
Entropism (Necessity Over Style) - This clothing style is reminiscent of an older time. In fact, this looks really familiar with what most people wear nowadays. Jeans, a t-shirt, and boots are really the center of this look. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.
Neomilitarism (Substance Over Style) - When you look at this style, it’s hard not to think of the evil corporations you’ve seen or read about in media. This is the official “bad guy” look. Black suits, Black dresses, and black armor. Need I say more?
Neokitsch (Style And Substance) - I’d say that this is the “Hollywood” version of the regular Kitsch. Whenever we see celebrities on the red carpets with their crazy or extravagant looks, this is them on the daily. I can’t help but say that I feel like this is what my character’s look might lean towards when I get in-game.
Stadia
Another confirmation we received during the stream was that Cyberpunk 2077 would in fact be coming to Google Stadia on November 19th. I’m really interested in seeing how such a great looking game like this would stream. I’m really pleased that so many games are being put up on this service because it reaches a wider audience of casual gamers.
The title is gold to release this November 19th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and now Google Stadia. I’m extremely excited to play this game and you can ask anyone, this is the contender to be game of the year. We’ll know for sure on November 19th though.
