Pulling back the veiling on the second title to follow the popular virtual reality zombie game, themed in the beloved The Walking Dead series, is Skydance Interactive and Skybound Entertainment themselves. Aiming to bring an expanded and improved experience with The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution, they have added quite a bit to the game.
Most namely of additions to the game is the ability to play during the night! You can carry out missions and explore your surroundings at night, giving you a chance to find more loot at the cost of facing more dangers. Zombies are attracted to your flashlight as well, so you’ll need to be extra cautious when venturing through in the dark. At least you’ll have the use of 3D Spatial Audio for accurate sound direction to help guide you. Keep in mind that choosing whether to go out at night or wait for daytime won’t be your only choice. In fact, they are designing the game so that there will be multiple ways to complete missions, giving players the freedom of choice to experience and complete missions their own way.
As for some of the more straightforward additions, we have been given some new toys to play with along with a variety of new permanent skills. There is also now a shop for players to utilize in between scavages. They added a submachine gun, a crafted sawed-off shotgun (which can be wielded in one hand giving room for players to equip it while duel wielding), a chainsaw - which you will need to maintain fuel to use, a new laser sight attachment that even works on bows, and expanded the number of crafting options with new recipes, items, and tables.
Of course, with a new game comes a new storyline and campaign, which also means new zombies, zombie variations, and other enemies. They also added a new danger: Falling Zombies. This will be a common occurrence, so look out for your higher surroundings as well!
We still don’t have a release date yet, but The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners - Chapter 2: Retribution is planned to release sometime this year on Quest, PC, PlayStation VR, and PlayStation VR 2.
