It's impossible to question the major league status of Dota 2. The game has even managed to break through the well-guarded gates of traditional media with the game's largest annual tournament, The International, being aired on television through ESPN 2 in 2014 and 2015. However, The International isn't the only marquee tournament that Dota fans have to look forward to anymore.
The Majors are a new series of seasonal, invitational tournaments, which lead up to The International. The first Dota Major will be held at the Festhalle Messe in Frankfurt, Germany from November 16-21 and will feature 16 teams competing at $3,000,000 prize pool.
Attendance at the Frankfurt Major will be open to the public, with no tickets required to view the events, except for on the day of the finals. Tickets to the finals will cost €50 and are available online now!
