Crazy to think that it has been almost 20 years since the Dreamcast was discontinued back in 2001. The system was pioneering in a number of ways including second screen play and online gaming. The game library has been remembered fondly hosting classics like Shenmue, PSO, and Sonic Adventure 2 to name a few. Even after all this time, a number of games still manage to make their way to the Dreamcast and the latest is coming this month.
This is Arcade Racing Legends by PixelHeart and it is, as the name implies, an arcade racing game! the title takes inspiration from classic Dreamcast titles such as Crazy Taxi and Daytona USA, with cars from both titles making a cameo! A career, splitscreen multiplayer, and time trial mode will be available for players to enjoy with more than 15 cars to choose from across 6 locations. The game is looking pretty slick in motion and reminds me heavily of the games that inspired it.
3000 physical copies of Arcade Racing Legend are being produced with each copy coming in a jewel case complete with instruction booklet and certificate of authenticity. sales for the game are planned for later this month so be sure to check back soon when the links are made available!
What do you think about the Dreamcast getting a new game so long after its demise?
