EA mentioned in a conference call that a sequel to Star Wars Battlefront was slated for Fall of 2017. Polygon writes that EA's Blake Jorgensen said as much when he said the game can be expected "a year from now". Jorgensen also added the following...
"We’re working very hard on making sure that is an extremely deep and engaging offering,"
The news that a sequel is in the works isn't new, but the locked date is. One has to wonder how the sequel will sell considering a massive disapproval of the series new direction when the game rebooted in 2015.
We can hope that DICE wakes up and brings back the gameplay that made the first two games in the series so popular, but I'm assuming the sequel will be further refining on the new mechanics presented in the reboot.
I know some people that liked it, but personally, I wasn't a fan. It felt like I was playing an arcade shooter on a massive map and death came as swiftly as my respawns! Is there anything you'd want fixed between the new Battlefront and it's sequel?
