Gloomhaven is one of the biggest board games of all time. In size and popularity. It’s a dungeon-crawling epic that involves over 100 hours of gameplay. It currently holds three number-one rankings on BoardGameGeek, including the overall category. And, now, Asmodee, arguably one of the best in adapting board games for digital play, has introduced another large update to the early-access Gloomhaven game on Steam.
For such a complex game, one feature that was sorely lacking in the current version of the game was a tutorial. That’s now been addressed. In the Tinkerer update, a tutorial now exists to guide new players in the campaign experience. This is crucial for convincing gamers to try out the cooperative dungeon crawler. Other changes have arrived with the update, though, that will improve the quality of life. The tinkerer class is now playable. A new roster selection, battle log, and adjustments to the adventure mode round out the improvements. Additional content in the form of X cards and new items give a boost to the current game.

We’ll be keeping an eye on Gloomhaven as it continues through early access. At launch, it could be a robust and well-adapted version of the board game hit. Let’s hope so.
