Limited Run Games has announced that they will soon be taking pre-orders on physical copies of Aspyr’s re-release of Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. Both the PS4 and Nintendo Switch editions of the game are set to be released and will include any patches released between now and mid-August when pre-orders for the tile cease. In total 3 versions of the game have been announced with a standard release, classic edition release, and collector’s edition release. Both the classic edition ($59.99) and collectors edition ($89.99) have had a price reveal but as of this publication, the standard edition’s price hasn’t. Honestly, I expect it to go for around $30 which has been typical for these Star Wars releases.
I had a feeling this was going to happen, but cool to see that it actually is! I was pretty harsh with the initial reveal of this re-release but Aspyr has really turned it around and made it a solid port. The one lingering issue I had with the Switch version of the game was the lack of lighting and suns in certain sections of the game and those got fixed in the latest update.
