ESL has officially thrown down the ban hammer to Team YP due to its controversial sponsor. Gamespot says the team's sponsor, pornography site YouPorn, is disappointed, but actively working to try and fix the situation. ESL released a statement essentially saying the issue was not so much on their side, but in the laws of states and cities they compete in. Most locations ban the outright advertisement of pornography, and having a team wearing their sponsor's shirts at their event gets a few legal teams chomping at the bits to drop a cease and desist of some sort.
Both ESL and Youporn are working towards a solution to reinstate Team YP across their numerous gaming platforms.
