The Evercade retro handheld has just received a delay in release thanks to the coronavirus. The company took the opportunity to explain to its fans and potential buyers that because the system, like most electronic goods these days, are made in China the shutdown of production factories in response to the coronavirus has impacted the manufacturing of Evercade units.
The delay isn’t a major one, only setting the release of the handheld back by a month to May 22. The situation regarding the delay is an uncommon one and totally not the fault of anyone. Still, it is great to have Evercade keep us updated on the impacts on its products. The Evercade is one of the more interesting retro devices to come to market in recent memory and I would rather have it delayed than to have a limited launch. Evercade isn’t the only company to be hit with delays due to the coronavirus as companies like Limited Run Games and even Sony and Microsoft have also felt the impacts to the shutdowns.
