Everything You Need to Know About Control Resonant

Close to seven years after the release of the critically acclaimed Control, Remedy surprised us all with the announcement of a sequel, Control Resonant.

And with its announcement and subsequent previews, many fans have been left with many questions, especially because Resonant, while it shares the same vibe as its predecessor, plays considerably differently.

So, if you are wondering what eldritch horror you’ll have to face next, here is everything you need to know about Control Resonant.

What is the release date for Control Resonant?

Currently, the game is advertised to be released in 2026. No exact date has been officially revealed.

What platforms will Control Resonant release on?

Control Resonant will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Mac. No Nintendo Switch 2 version has been announced. Given Remedy’s past ports for the Switch, players shouldn’t rule out that possibility.

What price is Control Resonant launching at?

No price has been announced for Control Resonant. However, based on trends, the game is most likely to be released with at least a $69.99 price tag.

How does Control Resonant’s gameplay work?

Contrary to the first game, Control Resonant plays as an action RPG. Long gone are the third-person shooter days, as players will have to get their superpowered hands dirty to destroy cosmic threats haunting New York City.

The game’s protagonist, Dylan Faden, will forego the guns used by his sister, Jesse (Control’s protagonist), and use melee attacks against enemies, all fueled by his supernatural prowess. The game will also feature progression systems, which means that you’ll be able to upgrade your skills and even alter them to concoct a better-suited playstyle.

What is the plot and setting of Control Resonant?

Control Resonant takes place seven years after Control. You play as Dylan Faden, Jesse Faden’s brother, who is tasked with fighting a cosmic entity that has made Manhattan a living hell. Dylan will also have to track down his sister, while also unraveling the “inner workings” of the Federal Bureau of Control, the government agency that kept him in years-long captivity.

Is there a demo for Control Resonant?

No demo is currently available for Control Resonant. Chances are that no demo will be made available at a later date, given that the only one available for other modern Remedy games was for the Switch’s version of Control, which is only meant to test out the player’s streaming capabilities (it is, after all, a Cloud Version).
