How does Mortal Shell II’s gameplay work?
Mortal Shell II is a soulslike where the player can pick up “dormant forms of forgotten warriors” across the world, also known as shells. These can be activated at will, changing the character’s abilities and strengths, all of which can be upgraded.
Meanwhile, Mortal Shell II’s world will be open for exploration, rewarding players who wander off and discover the more than 60 dungeons scattered across the map. Of course, that leads to challenging battles with monstrous enemies that can kill you without breaking a sweat, so you’ll have to time your attacks (ranged and melee), dodge, and parry as you see fit, all without worrying about stamina.
And, as seen in the Mortal Shell II’s gameplay trailer, you can fight as a goat.
What is the plot and setting of Mortal Shell II?
Your character is the Harbinger, who is a prophesied being whose mission is to seek the Ova from the Undermether, a sacred entity. This will be easier said than done, of course, as grotesque and dangerous foes will be the ones guarding those precious eggs. And, as said above, it all takes place in an interconnected world, ready for you to discover.
