Just like the first game in the series, players control an entire cast of characters who face a deadly horror. It’s a cinematic experience in which choice-making will determine the outcome of the cast, some of whom will inevitably die a painful death.
This time around, according to the developers, Until Dawn 2 will put a big emphasis on the smallest decisions on top of the huge moments. That way, as players manage the relationships between the characters, certain branching narratives may trigger, setting a sort of Butterfly Effect.
What is the plot and setting of Until Dawn 2?
The crew, this time around, is a group of ghost hunters who run Dead True, a paranormal channel without any real supernatural experiences under their belt. After signing a deal with a TV network, the crew is sent to an abandoned tropical paradise, Akashima Island. Beautiful on the surface, the place hides “dreadful and heartbreaking secrets,” and soon they will be hunted down by unexplainable horrors.
