It was announced yesterday (August 5th) via the official Evil Dead: The Game Twitter account that the game would be postponed until February of 2022. The reason being; the development team behind the game, Saber Interactive needs some extra time to polish off the game to ensure that it’s of top quality for its fans, the moment it releases.

The tweet was followed up with a roadmap of what’s to come announcements-wise. They teased new character updates, pre-order availability, and a new gameplay video featuring Ash Williams himself, Bruce Campbell. It’s unclear as to whether this delay has anything to do with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and the surge of new cases of the Delta variant.

It’s also worth noting that the tweets also spoke about how this additional time would also allow the dev team to focus on the implementation of a single-player option of gameplay. This is a welcomed announcement and I’m glad that their time is being used to add a feature that I’m sure a lot of players would appreciate.

Evil Dead: The Game will release in February 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
