The popular and celebrated Final Fantasy XIV is in consideration for a release on the Xbox One Polygon tells us. The word comes directly from creator Naoki Yoshida, who says it was Microsoft who made the first move...
"Microsoft actually approached the Final Fantasy 14 team about the cross-platform opportunity...When our team reviewed the regulations that are associated with that, we realized that Microsoft may not have the experience or understanding of running an MMORPG as an online game genre just yet. The Final Fantasy 14 team has fed back to Microsoft that there are certain elements of its regulations that we would have to consider waived. We're waiting on Microsoft's response for that, but we are having discussions."
So it looks like there are a couple "i's" to dot for the deal to make any REAL progress forward, but it would be interesting as this would technically be the first TRUE cross-platform game for the brand (PS3, PC, and presumably Xbox One).
