Fortnite For Nintendo Switch 2 Details Have Been Revealed

The Nintendo Switch 2 is set to release tomorrow and Epic Games has just shared some of the main details on Fortnite being released on the new console, including features that will finally bring them on a better playing field when compared to the Nintendo Switch version.

Here are the features coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 version taken from the official blog:

  • 60 FPS!

  • Higher resolution (2176x1224 docked, 1600x900 undocked)

  • Greater view distances (See more things in the distance!)

  • Higher-quality textures, higher-quality shadows, and higher-quality water rendering (nice water)

  • Clothing physics enabled

  • The Replay system is here — relive your best Battle Royale matches from another perspective!

  • Capture video clips using the Capture button

  • GameChat* supported — stream your Fortnite gameplay with up to three other friends

  • For the hardcore tech folks: full “desktop” renderer, high-detail geometry, distance field ambient occlusion in docked mode, shadow casting point lights, high-quality effects

  • Mouse controls supported with Joy-Con 2 (Starting June 7)

Mouse controls are a welcome addition and the ability to play 60FPS on the console sounds fantastic. This matches the current standard for the PS4/Xbox One era of consoles and this was to be expected with the Nintendo Switch 2.

You can also unlock an emote by logging into the game from a Nintedo Switch 2 console, which is something you should look forward to.

Let us know what you think of the new version.
