The designers of wildly-popular roleplaying games have acquired the Coriolis game property from Paradox Interactive. This is fantastic news because the Coriolis roleplaying game features a breathtaking science fiction universe. The RPG was originally released by Free League in 2017, and this acquisition will result in more Coriolis projects in the future.
Here’s a synopsis of the world:
Coriolis is a science fiction setting set in a remote cluster of star systems called The Third Horizon. It is a place ravaged by conflicts and war, but also home to proud civilizations, both new and old. Here, the First Come colonists of old worship the Icons, while the newly arrived Zenithians pursue an aggressive imperialistic agenda through trade and military power.
The game received the ENnies Judges’ Spotlight award in 2017, so it’s exciting to see Free League Publishing have the creative control to bring the Coriolis setting back to life in future projects. The creators of roleplaying games Mutant: Year Zero, Tales From the Loop, and Alien designed the Coriolis setting, so there is a strong developmental team ready to build the next campaign.
Free League Publishing is the company behind the exciting new Alien roleplaying game that released in December. GameTyrant covered the product launch last month, and an in-depth review of the roleplaying game and the core mechanics will be published soon.
