In celebration of reaching the amazing milestone of 2.5 million downloads, co-developers Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games are bringing some new content to Streets of Rage 4! This content is separated between a paid DLC and a free update, giving all players something new to check out. Whether you play on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, or Xbox One, this is what they have coming later this year.
Starting with the free update, since all owners of the game will receive this, there will be a new challenge for players with the New Mania+ difficulty. They are also bringing an in-depth training system for you to perfect your strategies and combos. Lastly, they are providing new color palette options to keep Wood Oak City’s most dangerous fighters looking sharp.
As for the paid DLC, also known as Mr. X Nightmare. The main highlight that comes with this DLC is the addition of three new fighters, one of which being Estel Aguirre who is shown off in the announcement trailer below. Check out the trailer and witness Estel in action and spot a hint at the DLC’s two other characters still to be revealed. Along with new characters, this DLC introduces a unique Survival mode, which challenges players to elevate and prove their true capabilities through special tests of skill. More details on Survival mode will be given at a future date. Also, players can additionally build their own personalized fighting style with new moves via incoming character customization.
Looks like the Mr. X Nightmare DLC is definitely going to be worth it, but even so, the developers are bringing new content for all players that will improve the replayability further. Streets of Rage 4 is already one of my favorite games, but this is just going to make it so much better! But I’m curious, who do you think the remaining two fighters are going to be?
