Frosthaven is finally making its way into Early Access on July 31st, and if you’re even remotely a fan of deep tactical RPGs or the original Gloomhaven, this should be circling your calendar in red ink. Coming to Steam and the Epic Games Store, this digital adaptation is more than just a faithful port, it’s a sprawling, snowy, and brutal descent into everything fans loved about the original board game and then some.

What’s more, players will be able to grab the Frosthaven x Gloomhaven Digital Bundle at launch, a slick combo deal that includes both games. If you somehow missed Gloomhaven Digital, this is a perfect time to double up.

This announcement comes alongside a brand-new trailer and the reveal that Frosthaven will also be featured at GenCon 2025, complete with Early Access demos and exclusive swag at the Cephalofair Games and Forteller Games booths. Whether you're going hands-on for the first time or diving back into the icy wilds, there's something to get excited about.

Why I’m Genuinely Excited

Let me be clear — this isn’t just another board game adaptation riding on a big name. I got to play the Frosthaven demo during Steam Next Fest, and I was surprised by how hooked I got. The combat felt deliberate and rewarding, the atmosphere was gritty in the best way, and even in early form, it delivered that signature Gloomhaven-style tension and choice-making.
