Frostpunk is easily one of the most stressful city-builders I’ve played, and I found the experience thoroughly engaging. It frequently asks you to make tough decisions and boasts incredible visuals carried by a fantastic art style.
No other game has made me feel as chilly as Frostpunk, and now that we finally have a detailed look at Frostpunk 2 in action, I’m terrified to return to the brutal and icy world created by 11 Bit Studios. Check out the full-length gameplay trailer of Frostpunk 2, previously teased at the PC Gaming Show.
What’s obvious to me is the clear visual upgrade over the first title, which came out back in 2018. It still holds up in my opinion, but Frostpunk 2 is targeting a bigger scope with complex building structures and increased verticality. In typical Frostpunk fashion, you’ll have to manage the needs of your people and use your intuition and foresight to make decisions that will have the least amount of consequences in the long run.
I’m very excited to return to this harsh world crafted by 11 Bit Studios and hope to make better decisions than last time. Frostpunk 2 is coming to PC in the first half of 2024 and will be available on day one with PC Game Pass and later with Xbox Game Pass upon release on Xbox Series X|S.
