Even though there was a soft reveal for the gameplay last week, Striking Distance Studios and their publisher KRAFTON took up a slot during Summer Game Fest 2022 to unveil an extended version of their original trailer and show off uncut gameplay for The Callisto Protocol! This gameplay reveal shows off how intense the action itself is, not to mention how dangerous the environment you are in can be as well.
If you haven’t heard of The Callisto Protocol before, it is a new game from many of the original team members that brought us Dead Space. In this game, set 300 years in the future, the player will take on the role of Jacob Lee – a victim of fate thrown into Black Iron Prison, a maximum-security penitentiary located on Jupiter's moon, Callisto. Using a unique blend of shooting and close-quarters combat, Jacob will need to adapt his tactics to combat the rapidly evolving creatures while scavenging to unlock new weapons, gear, and abilities to outrun the growing threat and escape the horrors of Jupiter's Dead Moon.
The Callisto Protocol is coming out on December 2nd for PC via Steam and Epic Games, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. If you are planning to pick this new space horror up, head over to the website and choose between the Day One and Deluxe versions. Both of these versions come with the Retro Prisoner Skin and 2 Retro Prisoner Weapon Skins, but the Deluxe also includes a Season Pass. While there, you can also see the unannounced and still currently unavailable Collector’s Edition that is listed right now to be viewed and considered for a future reveal.
