Games Done Quick kicks off its annual all-women summer charity event, Flame Fatales, tomorrow - Sunday, August 21. This event puts the spotlight on women in the speedrunning community who will be blasting through games live on stream. This marathon event will help bring funds to the Malala Fund, a non-profit that works to secure free, safe, and quality education for girls around the world.
In 2021, Flame Fatales raised over $125,000 for Malala Fund. This year they have another impressive roundup of games and speedrunners, including:
Phasmophobia co-op [any% Nightmare] run by Nichole Goodnight and Bathinjan
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [Bonus Tracks and DLC Tracks] with amber_cxc
Pokemon Legends: Arceus [Beat Kleavor] with kaguyanicky
Stardew Valley [Crafts Room] with blackheartwings
If you’re interested in watching this event, it will take place from August 21st to the 27th and will be streamed on the Games Done Quick Twitch channel. You can check out the full 2022 Flame Fatales schedule to see what games or streamers you might be most interested in tuning in for.
Viewers will be able to directly support the charity by making donations on the Games Done Quick homepage. One hundred percent of all donations received during Flame Fatales 2022 will go to Malala Fund.
