During Xbox’s E3 Briefing, we got new information on Gears 5 including the release date, a new gamemode, and pre-order bonuses. All of this information comes from the 3 trailers showcased during the briefing, which you can watch below.
The “Kait, Broken” trailer dives deeper into her conflict with the mysterious draw towards the swarm, her sworn enemy, and her duty to her squad.
The new gamemode in Gears 5 is called, Escape. In Escape you play as a team of C.O.G. soldiers tasked with destroying swarm hives from the inside. The gamemode is described by Rod Fergusson as, “Everything you love about Gears turned up to 11.”
Pre-order, or play Gears 5 within the first week of release to get the Terminator Dark Fate pack.
Gears 5 is slated for a September 10th release. If you purchase the special editions of the game you will be able to play 4 days early. Prior to the release of the game there will be a multiplayer tech test in July that will be followed by some horde gameplay in August. Are you excited for Gears 5? What will you be playing first?
