The developers of Blade Assault, the 2D action rogue-lite platformer have announced their latest stab at the genre with Dragon is Dead, a hack-and-slash, rogue-lite coming to PC in June this year. In Dragon is Dead, you’ll choose from a variety of characters, each with their specific skill trees, and playstyles that you can further customize. Check out the announcement trailer below.
There’s also a focus on crafting special equipment along with Runes management, which sounds a lot like Diablo. Personally, I love the art style, and it’s as if Blasphemous and The Last Faith had a baby.
The Gothic aesthetics and character art remind me a lot of Castlevania as well. It’s coming to Steam as an early access title on 7th June 2024, and I’m excited to see what the developers have learned with their time on Blade Assault.
