343 Industries has recently updated Halo Infinite with some new content that gives a callback to Halo’s golden days. With Halo 3 maps now being added to the game, players are ready to jump back into the mix. Along with these newly added maps, 343 is also adding a new playlist that aims at introducing a smaller version on BTB for players looking for a less player-heavy mode.
Kusini Bay, Vallaheim, and Rat’s Nest are back and being introduced to Halo Infinite’s gameplay in the brand-new Squad Battle Playlist mode. If you find Big Team Battle too chaotic at 12v12 but 4v4 is just not enough, then let us introduce you to the new Squad Battle playlist! Resembling the BTB of old, Squad Battle pits 8v8 in a mix of Slayer and Objective modes on these community-made maps that lend themselves well to both infantry and vehicular combat.
Modes such as One Flag CTF, Slayer, King of the Hill, Total Control, and CTF (3 and 5 captures) are all included in this new playlist. I strongly suggest players to try the new Squad Battle mode if BTB seemed like too large of a playing area. However, these smaller maps and lower player count does not mean that chaos is absent. Quite the contrary. Halo vets will feel right at home with this playlist.
Halo Infinite multiplayer is free-to-play and available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
