How to Complete the 50m Slope Challenge in Crimson Desert

As you travel the world of Crimson Desert, you’re sure to find Sealed Abyss Artifacts along the road. Each has an associated challenge to complete that ranges from creating specific situations to accomplishing benign tasks. One that you might still be carrying around tasks you to slide for 50 meters continuously.

While some locations far out in other regions provide the environment to do this, there is a much more convenient way to cheese through this challenge near your camp. Here’s what you need to know to complete the Sliding Down the Slope challenge in Crimson Desert.

Where to Find the Sliding Down the Slope Sealed Abyss Artifact

Before you can complete this challenge, you’ll need to find the Sealed Abyss Artifact first. Those who already picked it up can safely skip this part. Anybody looking to quickly finish a challenge and unlock an Abyss Artifact for use will want to read on.

This particular Sealed Abyss Artifact is pretty close to the starting area. Head southeast from Hernand Castle and cross over a river or two. Your destination is a small place called Bloomwood Ranch.

The Sliding Down the Slope Sealed Abyss Artifact can be found in the middle of the three-road junction directly west of Bloomwood Ranch. It will be lying on the small stone altar in the small patch of grass.

How to complete Crimson Desert’s 50m slope challenge

The seemingly proper way to complete this challenge is to run and slide down a path for a minimum of 50m. However, it appears that drifting around on your horse can also count as a slide. Your horse’s quicker movement also means it can “slide“ much easier than you can.

You won’t be able to use any horse for this challenge at first. Only by leveling one up to level 3 will a horse gain the Drift skill. To drift on a horse, it needs to be at a dashing speed, after which you’ll need to move the left stick left and right while holding Circle/B.

Next is finding the perfect sloped road. Good thing there is one a bit southwest from the Bloomwood Ranch, or more specifically, on the road connecting the Howling Hills campsite you set up in Chapter 3 with the nearby shore.

Simply get your horse to dashing speed from the crossroads up top and then begin drifting partway down the northern road. Even if you don’t start drifting until you’re halfway down, a notification for completing the challenge should pop up before you round the bend.

Your horse should have more than enough stamina at this point to drift down this path for 50m. Try to reach the dashing speed before heading down the slope, on the off chance you’re running out of room.

Remember to use the Abyss Artifact afterwards from your inventory to earn yourself a skill point. If you’re still unsure where to invest those points, we’ve got you covered with Crimson Desert’s best skills to unlock first.

Crimson Desert is available now on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
