The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia is absolutely awesome behind the scenes book for the legendary Legend of Zelda franchise. The book provided background into the series creation and tons of concept art for the various games in the franchise as well as a timeline for the games and each one’s individual story. The book originally released just prior to the launch of Skyward Sword in Japan and as such also includes a ton of information specific to that game including a prequel manga from Akira Himekawa.
The Hyrule Historia has traditionally only been available in a hardcover release but in 2013 with the release of the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Limited Edition Wii U Console, the book came pre-loaded in digital form on the systems. Now, nearly 7 years later it would seem this digital version of the book is finally going to see widespread release.
According to a number of online retailers like Amazon, the digital edition of Hyrule Historia is set to release on April 14, 2020. Interestingly, Hyrule Historia is the last book in the Zelda encyclopedia series to make its way to digital despite being the first one released. If digital books are your thing, Hyrule Historia can be yours for $19.99 a nice $20 savings from the original hardcover release.
