From Shiny Shoe, the indie studio that brought the smash roguelike Monster Train comes a lore reveal of their next adventure Inkbound. Inkbound will be a co-op online MMO roguelike RPG adventure. Players will join together to save a world of stories from literally unraveling. In Inkbound, reality itself is dependent on magical tales, which are usually safeguarded within the Atheneum hub, but now you and your friends must dive into it to save the world before it’s too late.
Shiny Shoe claims the narrative of the game is one of the most important parts and key to Inkbound’s innovative and unique gameplay. The narrative of the game is so important that Shiny Shoe’s CEO Mark Cooke, wanted to highlight the lore himself and released a brand new video, gifting prospective players with background information on the worlds contained within the magical Atheneum as well as what the hero's role will be in the upcoming adventure.
I can’t wait to see what the game will look like when it comes out. The idea of a story world is one I absolutely love, and I can’t wait to see how my favorite genre of roguelikes will get integrated into this story and co-op play style Shiny Shoe is talking about.
Inkbound’s Early Access will be available sometime in 2023 on Steam for PC.
