Nintendo has been distributing rare and shiny mythical Pokémon once a month as part of Pokémon’s 20 anniversary celebration. Mew, which hasn’t been available since Pokémon Red or Blue, and then a special distribution event in 2006, was made available once again in February of this year at participating GameStops.
If you missed it and are dying to get your hands on this super rare Pokémon, you're in luck because Nintendo’s giving you another chance to do so by signing up for the Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter. Once you’re signed up all you have to do is wait for the June newsletter and you’ll get your download code to receive it as a mystery gift in any game starting from Pokémon X/Y and beyond.
Signing up for the Pokémon Trainer Club is free but make sure to sign up by June 1st and to opt in to receive the newsletter. If you already received Mew back in the February distribution event you won't be able to get a second one.
