Miles Morales 2020 Suit Sixth Scale Collectible Figure by Hot Toys: Overview and Hands-On Impressions

If you’re a fan of the Marvel’s Spider-Man game franchise — Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, especially — then the figure I’ve been checking out might be right up your alley. Sideshow sent over Hot Toys’ highly detailed Miles Morales (2020 Suit) Sixth Scale Collectible Figure for me to look over, and it’s quite a step above what I even expected from photos. It’s definitely going to be a standout in my collection, and it’s left me eager to peruse more of Hot Toys’ figures.

Below is everything that comes with the Miles Morales (2020 Suit) Sixth Scale Collectible Figure, as well as my impressions of the piece and whether I think it’s worth the investment for collectors.

What’s included in the Miles Morales (2020 Suit) Sixth Scale Collectible Figure box

First, let’s take a look at what you’ll be getting when you purchase the Miles Morales (2020 Suit) Sixth Scale Collectible Figure. There’s quite a lot to sort through inside its box, after all.

When you open the Miles Morales (2020 Suit) Sixth Scale Collectible Figure, you’ll find the following items:

  • 11.61” tall Miles Morales figure wearing the 2020 Suit in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales game

  • Three interchangeable eye pieces in digital dot form (USB power operated)

  • Ten pieces of interchangeable hands, including:

    • One pair of web-shooting hands

    • One pair of web-holding hands

    • One pair of open hands

    • One pair of relaxed hands

    • One pair of fists

  • One hologram of Spider-Man

  • Six strings of spider web (varying shapes/lengths)

  • One open spider web effect

  • One high-tech workshop backdrop (multiple pieces)

  • One stand with Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales game logo and character name

  • One USB cord

Everything is packed into the box with care and features double plastic casing to secure the myriad small pieces until you’re ready to pop it open and take a look.

Impressions

The first step to any setup like this one is assembly.

In this case, the instructions provide fairly clear instructions, and it’s all pretty straightforward once you separate things into letters. Slotting the various pieces of cardboard together gave me a slight bit of trouble just due to some of the angles, but I never felt concerned about anything breaking or bending too much. It’s sturdy all around.

Once it’s all together, the Miles Morales (2020 Suit) Sixth Scale Collectible Figure looks great standing on the dynamic stand. It’s hard not to be impressed by the attention to detail in the suit and clothing here.

Most notably, Miles’ trainers and faux leather jacket both look particularly realistic up close. And his light-up chest and eyes really sell this as the high-tech suit that it is.

You can customize Miles in a ton of ways, too, including adding different hands, eye shapes, and even multiple web types. The coolest bit of customization, though, is the ability to position Miles in so many different ways.

I’m shockingly bad at creating good poses, sadly, so I haven’t been able to set up a scene that looks as rad as those on the box and website. But those with an eye for that kind of stuff will be able to have a hell of a lot of fun with this.

In the photo above, please note that I left off the figure’s mask shield, which obscures the eyes a bit more than you’d expect when not powered up by USB. As someone who doesn’t care to leave something like this plugged in at all times, I’m likely to leave the mask shield off altogether, actually. I also didn’t include the small Spider-Man hologram (pictured below) that can be attached to a computer on the right side — but it also lights up.

It goes without saying that, to get those features, you’ll need to plug the figure in with the included USB cable. The port is located on Miles’ back, meaning the cable is largely obscured by his jacket, which is a nice touch.

Conclusion

All in all, the Miles Morales (2020 Suit) Sixth Scale Collectible Figure is an extremely appealing option for collectors, especially those with a deep love of the Marvel’s Spider-Man game series, in particular. This is one of the best (and most popular) suits to make an appearance in the franchise, and Hot Toys has done an incredible job of showcasing the best of Miles’ tech vibes here.

If this sounds like a collectible you’d want to get your hands on, you can purchase the Miles Morales (2020 Suit) Sixth Scale Collectible Figure for $295 directly from Sideshow.
