If the South Park video games had a sci-fi lovechild with the Mass Effect series, maybe it would look something like Minimal Affect, an upcoming RPG from Toadman Studios and Sold Out.
The story-driven comedy action game features a cast of characters that will seem very familiar to anyone who has played the Mass Effect games, albeit with some colorful revisions and quirks that seem appropriate given the animated restyling of the game.
It’s going to be team-based, action-heavy, with third-person gameplay and a whole lot of jokes. The only thing in question will be if the jokes—and the game—will find firm footing with players.
Minimal Affect will launch in North America and Europe sometime in 2021, releasing on PC and major consoles. Specific platform details will be available at a later date.
