Bethesda released a plethora of gameplay footage and content at Starfield Direct. Starfield is the company’s new game which has had many fans skeptical due to Bethesda’s past of not polishing their games. Starfield Direct aimed to calm some nerves and open the way for optimism once the official release date hits.

It’s been 25 years since Bethesda made a new universe. They’ve been relying on other franchises like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout for their projects. Players will get the chance to try out this new universe in an original story with extensive character creation. The created character will join an organization called Constellation in the year 2330, the last group of human space explorers searching for artifacts. The story revolves around humanity having left their home galaxy in search of a new beginning.

The player will become a captain of their own customizable ship and explore a vast open galaxy to explore. The combat system is crisp and a huge step up from Fallout’s wonky shooting. Exotic animals and plants have been carefully created to fill out the world and prevent the planets from looking generic and boring. Let’s hope that sentient aliens are in the game as well.

With a new AAA release comes extra versions of the game. The Starfield Constellation Edition and Premium Edition are available for pre-order now. Here’s what comes in each.

Game Pass owners and people who pre-ordered the game will also get the Laser Cutter, Deep Mining Helmet, and Deep Mining Pack. Bethesda has proven its expertise in the fantasy and post-apocalyptic genres. Starfield will reveal whether a successful full-blown sci-fi game is written in the stars for Bethesda.

Starfield will be released on September 6th for Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
