The Game Awards have given developers and publishers an opportunity to air some of their most exciting news for upcoming titles and updates.
Cyberpunk 2077 developer and publisher CD Projekt Red has been no exception, as the Polish studio has revealed a new teaser trailer for the upcoming DLC, Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, featuring another famous face.
The appearance of Keanu Reeves' likeness and voice in the base game left an impression, and now he is not the only renowned actor to appear. Idris Elba will lend his talent and appearance to the new DLC, and the character of Solomon Reed.
Reed is an FIA agent, working for the New United States Of America. He is set to cross paths with the famous, infamous edgerunner V, in a new story that will take the player to whole new areas.
Not a great deal is known about what the events of Phantom Liberty will be, though the trailer features a lot of reference to NUSA, the alternate-world version of the USA. In theory, Night City is an autonomous city, free of their control, though attempts were made several years previously to bring the city under NUSA authority.
The hints about NUSA's involvement and the appearance of a terrifying-looking combat exoskeleton in the trailer are definitely interesting viewing.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is scheduled to release in 2023. The base game, Cyberpunk 2077 is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC via Steam.
