OPINION: ELDEN RING Is An Absolute Steal At $59.99

Let Value Ring

It is rare these days that I tackle the subject of a good value in gaming. With the whole ordeal usually being so subjective, with what may be considered a good value for one gamer, may not be considered a good value for another. If you follow the last 40 or so years of video game pricing, you’ll see prices are all over the radar especially when putting inflation into the equation. I remember paying $60 for Super Mario 64 back in 1996 and with various calculators, I figure that would equate to over $100 in 2022. Even though a lot of titles have moved to the $69.99 price point and much more with “deluxe” editions, a few holdouts are still bucking the trends. Regardless of all the speculation and calculation, I am here to tell you that Elden Ring is an extraordinary value at $59.99 in the year 2022.

See that screenshot above? Yeah, that’s not just pretty scenery, you can actually explore everything in sight and that is just a small portion of the map. In our full review, we delve into the many reasons we love this game but for the focus of this article, let’s just say that there is a massive amount of QUALITY content. While a lot of open-world games stuff the map full of filler and near pointless icons, Elden Ring does the opposite. While it’s not the biggest world in gaming, I can say it’s one of the best. With so much to do, see, hear, discover, and a huge variety of ways to defeat your enemies, it’s a massive sandbox that I could only dream of a short time ago. With so much solo and multiplayer goodness to be had, I can’t recommend Elden Ring enough, especially if you are on a limited budget. This game has kept me enthralled for 60+ hours and I still am excited to play it. That my friends, is an extremely rare thing for me to say indeed.
