One of the most iconic video game characters, Pac-Man, is once again launching a new game for players to play a variation of the old Atari Arcade that was initially launched in 1980. Bandai Namco has announced that the new Pac-Man game, titled 'PAC-MAN Championship Edition 2 PLUS,' will be launching on the Nintendo Switch on February 22, 2018.
"Experience the Retro Arcade Game With Eye-Catching Action and Intense, Fast-Paced Stages On the Go"
It's insane to see how far Pac-Man has come from its original launch platform and how different they have created the game to be while maintaining the same classic gameplay style.
While this version of Pac-Man was originally released on PS4, XB1, and Steam in 2016, which included multiple new game modes shown off in the Hunter vs Runner trailer, it has now been made portable.
Probably the best thing about the Switch version is that it already includes the updates that was sent to the console versions over the year, including the two-player mode. I love being able to play classic games with friends, but now it can be taken with you! In-line entertainment for the long lines at events, doctors, or wherever you may be are now going to have the option to play a classic game with a controller instead of the touch screen.
Also, if you plan on getting this game as a gift or are just a die hard fan, you can still get this Pac-Man Ghost T-Shirt originally announced from Cotton Bureau. The retro look of the ghost on the T-Shirt with the brand new version of Pac-Man's graphics and game modes would make an excellent bundle.
This is hands down a must have for Nintendo Switch owners. The question is, will you buy it on launch or wait for a sale?
