PAST CURE: JOHN WICK Meets INCEPTION Meets FIGHT CLUB

Indie dev Phantom 8 Studio is bringing us an ambitious title this year, Past Cure. It’s an action stealth thriller that is centered around an ex-elite soldier that has a shady past and evidentially a much shadier future. The game is described as a mix of Inception, Fight Club, and John Wick; hell of a mixture if I do say so myself. Check out the story trailer down below!

The trailer gives you a quick glimpse of what the gameplay will be like, which relies heavily on third-person shooting and fighting. The graphics look great and based off of what was shown, the game is going for a cinematic feel, which I truly enjoy. Open world games are great but I feel that there is still a need for cinematic gameplay in modern gaming. I only hope that the developer brings us a well-polished game at the time of its release, but everything does look promising. Here’s a synopsis of Past Cure taken from the official site:

"After his years of being tortured in dark prisons across Europe, ex elite soldier Ian lives in the safehouse of his brother, struggling with the consequences of the military experiments he was put through. They twisted his mind, imbued him with preternatural mental abilities such as time control and telekinesis, and fractured his grip on reality. Driven by hallucinations and his thirst for revenge, Ian enlists his brother’s help as he sets out on a thrilling hunt for the perpetrators of the conspiracy against him, and for the truth underlying his torment. On his missions Ian experiments with his new powers, quickly coming to realize their inherent danger: with each use, his sanity frays a little more, inviting the nightmarish attention of something beyond reality. In pursuit of the men behind his imprisonment, Ian soon realizes that his true enemy may be hiding within his madness. With PAST CURE, indie developer Phantom 8 Studio have successfully combined challenging stealth missions and real-time action sequences. In the world of PAST CURE, two dimensions offer two realities – the waking world, and nightmare – coming together in a game aptly described as ‘Inception meets Fight Club meets John Wick’."

Past Cure is due to release sometime in Q4 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One both retail and digitally for $29.99. So, what do you think? Does this look like something you’d be interested in picking up on release? Or is this one flying straight over your radar?
