First Impressions
As someone who has never worn earbuds that curled around the ear, it took a while to get used to the feeling. But once I did, it was easy to forget that they were even there. In terms of comfort, my only issue was finding a good fit with the earbud tips. The SM100 headphones come with three different-sized tips, from small to large, and yet the smallest still felt uncomfortable in my ears.
No matter which tips I was using, the noises around me were dulled, but not muted enough to be fully concentrated on what I was listening to. The comfort and noise suppression were passable for the price of these headphones, but what really stood out was the sound quality.
Sound Quality
The earbuds are dual chamber with a 10 mm driver, which offers a good balance of sound quality and comfort. For what you get out of the sound, I preferred using them for gaming over listening to music.
For its price, you do feel like you’re getting premium sound quality. But when it came to the frequencies, I wasn’t getting much of the deeper bass pitches that I was finding in some of my favorite headphones. It almost felt like there was a bit of a filter, like I wasn’t getting the full, rich experience right out of the box.
Appearance and Final Thoughts
In terms of appearance, the SM100 headphones are sleek and have a futuristic vibe. It also has a detachable and lightweight silver-plated copper cable. They never felt heavy over my ears, so the wiring was never an issue. As for the microphone, it was also passable, nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done, especially when used for gaming.
Overall, the Sivga SM100 earbuds are well worth the price. If you’re looking for premium-like sound quality with decent comfort and a lightweight, sleek look, these are your go-to earphones. Despite my nitpicks, there’s a lot to love here for gamers who want something affordable but still of good quality.
