In a new job listing for the company, Sony could be following Xbox’s example and looking to bring their IP to even more platforms which could include their competitors. Could this mean that the console wars are effectively over?
The job listing for Sr Director, Multiplatform & Account Management asks for the following among other things:
“you will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the global commercial strategy for PlayStation Studios software titles across all digital platforms beyond PlayStation hardware, including Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Nintendo, and mobile”
The most important part is highlighted and it seems that we saw something like this earlier with Lego Horizon Adventures releasing on the Nintendo Switch, and again with Helldivers 2 releasing on the Xbox Series console later this year.
Could this mean that PlayStations new strategy could do away with timed exclusives? Only time will tell and how long it will take for the details in this job description to reach fruition.
