PlayStation has frequently been a positive space for developers to introduce exciting video game concepts. Yes, there are AAA titles that release for gamers all the time, but there is also an ever-growing library of indie games from small developers that challenge the ideas of what a game can be and positively impact the industry.

With that in mind, it’s exciting to hear about the PlayStation Indies Initiative, an effort to both highlight and encourage the best of the best indie games. Think of games like Journey, LittleBigPlanet, and all of the other classic indie games that have stayed in our collective memory. With this initiative, it will be possible to nurturer the developers who will make the next great game.

Along with future games, PlayStation is also committing to add an indie title to the PlayStation Now service every month, starting with Hello Neighbor in July.

But it wouldn’t be a PlayStation announcement about indie games without a look at some of the upcoming games that players can look forward to.
