Earlier today The Pokémon Company put on a short presentation to showcase a number of things coming our way in 2020 and beyond. Though the presentation is only a little over 10 minutes there is a number of things included so let’s recap everything showcased!
Pokémon Smile
Pokemon Smile is a new iOS/Android app designed to help young children get excited about dental hygiene. Using your phone’s front camera your child will be displayed on the screen with a set of teeth that have friendly Pokemon and the germs that are threatening them. By brushing their teeth, your child will protect the Pokemon and have nicer teeth in the process! After they finish brushing you can then catch the pokemon you saved. As part of the fun, your child can select a Pokemon hat to wear to make the experience more their own. Pokemon Smile is available now.
Pokemon Cafe Mix
The next game to be revealed is Pokemon Cafe Mix. This unique puzzle game has you playing as a cafe owner who caters exclusively to pokemon. By completing puzzles you better serve your guests who will develop a friendship with you. Get that friendship high enough and they will join your cafe staff and give you access to abilities to help clear puzzles faster. Pokemon Cafe Mix will be a free to start game and will be coming to Switch, iOS, and Android devices “soon.”
New Pokemon Snap
Pokemon Snap is back after 21 years! This is a huge announcement for me and my family as we love the original. You can check out my more in-depth thoughts of this one here.
Pokemon Go
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a number of things about Pokemon Go have been changed to let players continue playing the game from their homes. It was also revealed that this year’s Pokemon Go Fest will be held digitally. It was also revealed the Mega Evolution will soon be coming to the game alongside Victini and Galarian Farfetched. Isle of Armor outfits will also be available soon.
Pokemon Sword/Shield Isle of Armor Expansion
The new expansion for Sword and Shield is available today and lets players explore a whole new island of Pokemon! To celebrate the release, a new max raid battle is being held from today until the 28th where players will go up against Zeraora. If this battle is beaten 1 million times all players will get a shiny Zeraora for their game!
To conclude the presentation it was let known that another Pokemon related announcement will be coming next week.
