Coming together to bring a new psychological horror experience is Wired Productions and independent game development studio Camel 101. The announcement trailer for their game Those Who Remain was shown off at the latest Gamescom event and it caught the attention of horror fans despite it being a short trailer that takes less than a minute. This may be due to the fact that we got to see a glimpse of the story a few months back in their story trailer. There is no exact launch date yet, but they are planning to bring it to Steam, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One sometime in 2019.
The game has a similar set up to Silent Hill as players take control of Edward on his journey through darkness into Dormont – a once sleepy town, now plagued by secrets and mysterious disappearances – as he desperately attempts to come back to the light and put his life back on track. From what we see in the trailer however, it doesn’t look like it will follow in the classic horror games footsteps like Simulacrum does. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was more of an experience horror game like the Layers of Fear titles.
Either way, I am excited to see more about this game and hope that we will get a short gameplay reveal trailer when it comes time for them to announce a launch date. Check out the trailer for yourself and let us know in the comments what you think of this upcoming indie horror game:
