Game trailers are usually made in a way that it is easy for potential players to understand the gist of a story and gameplay the title has to offer. Despite doing just that, developers Super Sexy Software and publisher Deck 13 announced the release date for The Shattering with a trailer that is intriguing due to the lack of information it gives. All we see is a clean environment being interrupted by visions of a destroyed one, almost as if it were in a parallel universe, as an oldies commercial jingle sings behind it.
To help fill in some gaps, this story-driven, psychological thriller puts players in the mind of John Evans, who is struggling to piece together the fragments of his past and present. Unable to truly remember anything, his mind starts to mix false memories with the real ones in order to help shelter him from the truth. Following the voice of the Doctor who is guiding him deeper into his subconscious, he will experience defining moments from his memories. Ultimately, the goal is to discover the truth, shatter the lies, and find out what happened to John.
This wild story is coming to Steam as soon as April 21st, so it will only be a little over a week before you can walk through the misguided memories of John Evans. Are you ready to learn the truth?
