After the huge letdown surrounding the cancellation of P.T. a few years back, plenty of games took inspiration from the short-lived demos experience. The latest game of which comes from Jukai Studio who has been mostly silent as they worked on their psychological horror game Stray Souls. In an effort to hit the ground running, they have released a free playable demo on Steam shortly after releasing their first trailer.
Following the dark story of a teenager named Daniel, players will be unraveling the secrets of his past as they progress through the story. While on this journey, Daniel meets a girl named Martha that seems to know a lot more about him than he might think. In order to find out his secrets and get to the bottom of what Martha knows, players will face various puzzles and combat. Plus, there will be small sections where they play as other characters from a first-person perspective.
Stray Souls is definitely an interesting title and I look forward to learning more about the game as we get into the next year. For now, I’m going to have to try out that demo over on the game’s Steam page.
