JBL Quantum 360P Wireless Gaming Headset
A few months back, we reviewed JBL’s Quantum 910 Wireless Gaming Headset and instantly fell in love with it. It had a lot of fancy bells and whistles, but operated perfectly, making it feel like the Rolls Royce of headsets. With the JBL Quantum 360P on the other hand, it feels a bit more like an entry-level option that, whilst having great features, misses an important mark for me; durability.
Though the 360P has a lot of great creature comforts, such as the ability to make use of the Quantum Engine to boost audio quality, the problem with it is that I’m unable to ignore the fact that the headset feels very cheap. The build of it is a very light and soft plastic that just doesn’t seem like it will hold up to impact or be pulled in separate directions for long. The earcups are also just noticeably cheap faux leather.
I would still recommend this headset to those looking for something with great audio quality and built-in features. I just would say that this isn’t going to be a headset that feels very premium in durability.
Voin (First Impressions)
A game that certainly surprised me over the last week or so was Voin. While it’s currently in its infancy stages, this FPS sword-wielding action title scratches an itch I didn’t know I had. It makes you feel godly in just how free you are. Voin also features an open world where players are encouraged to take on its map and enemies in the ways in which they see fit.
But it isn’t just any old hack-n-slash set in an open world. This is somewhat of a rogue-like of sorts, allowing players to learn from previous mistakes and take that knowledge with them in order to push their adventure forward. I’m really excited to see exactly where this new title goes as it continues development!
Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game
A game that I really had hoped to get into but just couldn’t during the last console generation was Mudrunner. Though it had its fair share of tutorials, it just wasn’t my cup of tea. Luckily for me, Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game was different. Through its vast, exciting environments and lovely visuals, this really feels like a step forward for the series. Something I found very attractive, as a newbie, was the fact that the tutorials are much more accessible this time around. Everything is just a bit more clear, making gameplay all the more enjoyable.
However, I’d say that my biggest complaint about this new game is that there are still some confusing moments. It took me a bit to figure out how to swap between vehicles at first, because the game really doesn’t explain it, yet throws you not a scenario requiring multiple trucks. If you can make it past moments like that though, there’s a lot to love about this new and adventurous story for the Mudrunner series.
Winter Survival
This title was kind of a weird one but in a good way. Winter Survival takes everything that players of the survival genre love but implements them in a way that action-adventure players would appreciate. Winter Survival offers players not only a survival mode but also a story mode that makes its gameplay worth exploring, thanks to its crafting and survival features as well as its intriguing story beats and a sense of actual progression.
This isn’t a perfect game by any means, but it’s clear that its developer, DRAGO Entertainment has found a niche idea that may hit a sweet spot for players looking for more out of their survival and crafting games. It’s a bit rough around the edges but is still in early access, so I’d give it a chance if what I said intrigues you at all.
