The time has come! Recompile has been given a release date and it is close! The game will be officially released on August 19th! It’s only a matter of time until players will be able to jump into this stunning new title and see what it has in store.
Besides the release date announcement, a new trailer was revealed as well! It shows off even more of the game’s beautiful aesthetic as well as new locations and enemies. This game has definitely piqued my interest and I’m very excited to see how it delivers.
The story was written by narrative designer Faye Simms and explores themes of machines being sentient and the awareness of choice. We as players will take on a sort of rogue piece of semi-sentient code that’s been trapped in the mainframe. It’s a ginormous wasteland run by the murderous AI Hypervisor.
Recompile will be launching on PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X (including Game Pass) on Aug. 19. The game will be priced at $24.99 on console and $19.99 on PC at launch.
