Since it was first announced, we have learned a lot about Bandai Namco’s upcoming anime-styled game Scarlet Nexus. From knowing the genre to be considered brainpunk, to find that it will have a dual protagonist storyline, and even seeing some of the exciting gameplay, all that was left was an official release date; or so we thought. Along with announcing the game’s official release to be on June 25th PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series, they are also revealing that Funimation and Sunrise Inc are working on an anime that will release in the Summer of 2021!
Players will soon start their journey as either Yuito Sumeragi or Kasane Randall and experience the story through their eyes. Interact to learn new details about each character’s squad members and finish both Yuito and Kasane’s playthrough to get the complete story. Keep in mind that both characters allow for different gameplay experiences. Yuito attacks with his blade while Kasane uses kunai for wide, sweeping attacks. Both Yuito and Kasane also feature their own skill trees.
I was already looking forward to this game’s launch, but knowing it will have a companion anime series with it is pretty awesome! I was a fan of the God Eater anime and felt it really added to the experience that the games brought, so I can’t wait to see the lore of Scarlet Nexus shown through these two different outlets.
