Tom Phillips, the same Eurogamer writer who leaked the general design of Nintendo Switch months ahead of it's launch is back with another big reveal. It appears that the Nintendo Switch will indeed feature Nintendo Gamecube games on its virtual console for the first time ever. According to his report, three games have been tested and will be available at launch...
- Luigi's Mansion
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Super Smash Bros. Melee
That's some big news for the Nintendo Switch! Bringing SSBM alone to a current console is enough to get people excited! Apparently, Nintendo is also working on bringing the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing as well, but it's unclear as to whether or not that will be available at launch.
That's a very solid lineup and the kind of library Nintendo is going to need to bring to make the console successful! Like I mentioned earlier, I'm pretty comfortable with this reporting considering the track record of the writer, so I'm gonna regard it as fact even if Nintendo denies. Are there any other Gamecube games you'd like to see on the Switch? Do you think the competitive gaming community will embrace Super Smash Bros. Melee on the Switch, or will they continue to game on the Gamecube?
