Today's news from the Tokyo Game Show brings us an all-new trailer for Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, some new screenshots, and an update to the Beginning Hour demo.
This time around the trailer features actual footage of what the full game will be like. Admittedly, it has a very Silent Hill 2-like intro where the protagonist starts off by trekking around aimlessly in Dulvey, Louisiana around an old and derelict plantation house, all while listening to a cryptic message from his significant other. It culminates with a fight and a struggle that results in him being taken hostage and having to join the eerie-looking Baker family for a lovely supper.
In addition, a new Twilight version update for the demo has already become available via PSN to all PS4 owners regardless of PlayStation Plus membership status.
Resident Evil VII is still on track for a January 24, 2017 release date, and those who pre-order will receive a dynamic PS4 theme, in-game consumable item packs, something called a lucky coin, as well as access to hard mode without having to beat the game beforehand. Capcom also plans to release a Deluxe Season Pass edition of the game that will feature 3 additional story episodes. The final version of the game will be compatible with PlayStation VR and support 4K on PlayStation Pro.
