Audeze Maxwell Wireless Headset

If there’s one thing that i’ve tested a bunch of over the last year or so, it’s gaming headsets. But as someone who genuinely loves good audio, I could not turn down Audeze’s offer to test out the company’s new Maxwell wireless headset. After having tested the headset out for a month now, I think I have finally figured out my thoughts on it.

With a going rate of $299.00 in an economy like this, the Maxwell really needed to wow me in order to be a headset that justifies its price. Unfortunately, the maxwell, while being a great headset, just doesn’t do enough for me to be worth this very pricey MSRP. The build of the headset is incredibly premium but its audio can often give tin-like tones.

With its price tag, I also would’ve liked to have seen some better bells and whistles, though this headset really only offers a long battery life and a crystal-clear mic. While both are a welcome advantage, they don’t make a big case for someone to need this headset. It’s also not a very comfortable headset, especially when compared to Audeze’s better past gaming headset, the Mobius.

GameSir G7 HE Iron Man LE Controller

Last, but certainly not least; GameSir’s Iron Man edition of the G7 HE gaming controller. It’s a pretty solid controller overall that looks awesome to boot. Its red and gold color pallet and hidden arc-reactor core make this a need-to-own gaming peripheral for any Marvel fan.

I was very excited to use this controller from the time I plugged it in because of its Hall Effect anti-drift thumbsticks and clicky buttons, reminiscent of mouse clicks. Along with its responsive feedback, the controller offers a few creature comforts such as grippy textures, mappable buttons, and swappable faceplates. If I had to complain about anything, it’s about the fact that the GameSir software which really isn’t too necessary to have, is accessed through GitHub.
